Lead Climbing, vertical or horizontal movement protected by a dynamic rope secured by protection placed by the climber as they progress, enables access & rescue possibilities where traditional rope rescue operations fall short.  Structures such as bridges, industrial complexes, various towers, park rides, and others present opportunities for workers or unauthorized climbers (thrills seekers or suicidal individuals) to find themselves in need of rescue where top down or lanyard climbing techniques do not provide casualty access.  Lead Climbing provides a solution, allowing protected movement wherever the rescuer is capable of maneuvering and giving technical rescue and law enforcement personnel options when standard practices are insufficient.

This class equips the student with the skills necessary to perform structural Lead Climbing based access and rescue operations through a rigorous hands on program providing substantial climbing experience in a variety of structural environments.  This is an advanced class for students who already possess a depth of rope rescue training and operational experience. Students should expect a physically rigorous curriculum while working at height with single rope techniques, including training lead falls. If this gives you pause, this is not the class for you.  Please reach out to discuss any questions.
